Bridgette's New Do

Bridgette before and after, what do you think?

Merry Christmas

We had a very good Christmas. The kids got spoiled. Brock got World Tour for the Wii, Brinley got an American Girl doll that looks like her, Bridgette got the Bitty Twins from American girl. Here are a few of the photos we took. They also got spoiled by Grandma Susan, Grandma Val and Grandpa George.

Guitar Hero

Brock has a new passion. Here he is with this dad enjoying some male bonding on the Wii. I sure hope Santa brings us this game, I am tired of renting it.

Dancing Girls

I hope this works. I recorded my girls at Grandparents day. Bridgette has 2 because the first time she did the whole dance backwards. It was really funny. I kept thinking she would turn around but she was happy to do it her way.

Beardall Update 12-08

Hi all, It has been a few weeks since my last blog. I have been lazy. Really I have had one or more kids sick since September. We finally found out last night that my kids all suffer from a asthma Bronchitis and they have not been able to kick it. The doctor was so concerned that he sent us home with his cell number so we could call if we needed. I really want all my kids better for Christmas. We are planning on a few parties and rides thru the lights.
Here is an updated photo of my kids. I wanted to make sure you all saw my cute new photos we had taken by a lady in my ward. She is great. Audra Hatch. (her info is listed on the side under my kids photos.

Trent is finishing up school for the semester. I will be glad when he is done writing papers. I am tired of seeing him so sick of being on the computer. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year just in case I get lazy again and don't post Christmas photos in a timely manner.

Sick Little Girl

Brin has been so sick. She came down with Strep and Croup right after Halloween. The doctor gave her a steroid shot and put her on Amoxil. Well over the weekend we noticed she was not acting herself again. I took her into the doctor and she has both again. She had to get another shot and she even asked for it!!! Hopefully she can get better this time. This photo is of her at school last week. I thought she looked so cute walking out of school, so I made her stop so I could get it. She is so cute even when she is sick.

Being Thankful

I have been doing a lot of thinking this week about being Thankful. With the economy taking a turn, I am very grateful for my home, car and job. I am pretty sure they are all secure and should stay that way for the long haul. Money has been really tight this year but I try not to let that get me down. Because a lot of people are in the same situation. When I was younger, we would go to my Grandma and Grandpa Stones for Thanksgiving. My grandpa would always make us say 3 things we were Thankful for before we could start dinner. So this year I decided that the 3 most important things to me this year are #1. My family because without them I am no one. I'm not a mother, wife, friend, daughter, sister, aunt. #2. My job because without it I would not be able to have all the great friends that I have. I also would not need my great baby sitter. Donna is the best. Last but certainly not least, #3 My breath (I know, it sounds silly but hear me out)because without it I can not live. My dad tried for years and he lost the battle. Every time in the last 14 months that I take a deep breath I think of him. Oh how I wish breathing could be donated like blood. I would have given as much as possible. I have been really sad this week as the holidays approach. I think it is because last year I was still in my little bubble of fog. This year it is really sinking in. I hope you all have a great Holiday season. Don't let it pass without giving thanks for all you have.

Halloween 2008

Bridge as Belle. What a poser

Showing some skin. oops.

Brin as Aurora. A true Princess.

Brock and the buds.(gals)

Tricks and Treats at NSP

This year for Halloween both of the girls wanted to be a princess. Brin was Sleeping Beauty for the 3rd time. Bridgette was Belle(her sitter did her hair just like Belle's). We got the dresses in Disneyland while we were there in April.
Brock was a Grim Reaper of some sort, his buddies all dressed like girls. He decided he was too cool to hang with the family.
I was a Witch. Bridgette called me Glenda the good Witch because I was not scary.
My mom was a Princess Kitty. The total opposite of her real cat.
The kids got so much candy. It might have been due to Trick or Treating at my work, or the great weather. Halloween was great this year.

Funny Baby

Okay, I just need to tell you about my funny baby girl(she is only 3 yrs old). A few weeks ago when I was home with her on my day off, she was helping me clean the bathrooms. I hate it that no one knows, or acts like they know how to change the toilet paper. So I showed Bridgette how to change it. Now every time she goes potty, if she notices the paper getting low, she tells me she will change it. Last night she was just getting in the tub, and noticed that her sister used the last of the paper. Bridgette went flying out of the tub and changed the paper. Boy is she a girl after my own heart or what? She also loves to wipe down the tub and toilet seat top. She wants to really clean the toilet, but I wont let her. She loves to help me clean, she gets mad if I do not give her a job do to on the weekends like the other kids. Trent and I are lucky. We stopped having kids while we were ahead. We ended on a good one.

This is her giving herself a nap. She was tired so she went to sleep.
Love you Bridge

Happy Birthday to Kathleen !!!!!

I was not going to put anything on here about my birthday, but then I decided I might as well. I wish I had some cute baby photos of myself but I did not have time to get them together and my sister was in most of them. I didn't want you all to think she was the cute one. This year my birthday was on Sunday. It was much better than last years birthday.
I'm in the Primary with Trent. We teach the Sunbeams, so I had to get up in front of everyone and let them sing to me. Trent let me sit around and read my book all afternoon, My mom made my favorite dinner (Parmesan Chicken,Funeral Potatoes,Carrot Cake) and had my little family over. Then all the family came over that evening for cupcakes and ice cream. My mom gave me some great candle holders for my entry table. My mother in-law gave me Sex and the City movie. Trent is going to take me and the kids to see High School Musical 3 soon. I'm really grateful to have such a great family and extended family. I am also thankful that no one outside of my family really knows how old I am and when I tell them, they think I am lying. Ha Ha Shan, everyone thinks you are older than me. LOL

This is one of my favorite photos. I wish Matt was in it and Shan was looking forward.

Co-ed Softball - L & M Construction

This year we had so much fun. We have a great team. Thanks to my baby brother (D.J Barber)... He had his boss (Kevin Sorenson) sponsor us. We were in the "D" League and ended the season 7-0. When we went on to tournament we were bumped up two brackets. We played all the way to the finals. We were beat out by a "A" league team. We took 2nd in Bracket #4 out of 6. We are all looking forward to next year.

The photo is kind of dark but I really like it. If you click on the photo it will come up bigger and better.

Park City with the girls

This year I was in charge of getting everything set up for the Barber Girls annual get-away. My cousin works for a hotel and was able to get us the best room ever. We stayed at the Hotel Park City. She was able to get us the Presidential Suite. It was sooooo nice. We ended up having 16 ladies all together. It is so fun to get away for a few nights, catch up with all the cousins, talk about kids, blow off steam, shop, eat out and not worry about anything. I look forward to this weekend every year. Thanks all for coming and having fun. Kathryn, thanks for all you do. Missing from the photos was Michelle Barber Wright, Melinda Barber, Amanda Gull (I forgot her married name)Here is proof of our room.

15 Years

Sept 18th marks the 15th Anniversary for Trent and I. I can hardly believe it has been that long. We dated for 3 years before we got married. (18yrs total). It makes me feel so old. I have almost been a Beardall as long as I was a Barber. The years have been eventful for us, but they have been good. Trent still makes me laugh. He is the best dad ever. He is the one that takes care of sick kids. I really appreciate all he does for our family. I couldn't have asked for a better partner to share Eternity. I have been very lucky to be able to marry my best friend, and to be accepted into the Beardall family with open arms. Love you Trent.

My Dad... Douglas Lee Barber

I made it a year. I can hardly believe it. A year ago Sept 4th I lost my very special Dad. I made it through all the "firsts". Birthdays, Anniversaries, etc. I am so glad that he is no longer suffering. He never wanted to put anyone out, I loved helping him the last few months. He had to have a tube inserted into his throat so he could be hooked up to a machine to help him breathe. When he first came home from the hospital we kids took turns helping get him "hooked up". I was first and ended up staying the night at his house for a few nights. He was so nervous and I was now responsible for his life. I miss him so much. I really think he knew the end was near. He got my mom all settled in her new house and then just 4 days after we moved them he went into the hospital. I thought he would do as he had in the past and get well in a few weeks and come home. He was in the hospital 4 days before he passed away. My Uncle Keith was with him and my mom at the time and I am forever grateful to him for being there for my parents. I have had the hardest time the last few weeks. Because I know he would have loved the weather, parties, and seeing his grand kids grow and become great little people. I know that in my worst times he is with me. I just wish I could have one more time to sit and chat with him like we did in his room at night when I would go to his house and help get him hooked up to his breathing machine for the night. We would just chat about the day. We had no interruptions from the phone or kids. I have had great support from Trent. He is the best. He lets me be a cry baby when needed. My most memorable moment of my Dad is when he would hold my arm and say "Thank you, love you Cutie" I miss his voice. I made my family photos of them with my dad and the saying "I've learned that I may forget what you said, I may forget what you did, but I will never forget how you made me feel." I cant wait to see him again, healthy and happy.

Bridgette is in the Preschool class on Tuesdays with Allie Moore. (one of her best friends). Brin is in the Shooting Stars on Wednesday. This is her 4th year dancing.

Lagoon With NSP 8-8-08

We took the family to Lagoon for the Nature's Sunshine Company party. We had a great time. Evan Barber went with us. Brinley was a little mad because she was too short to go on the big kid rides. She better get used to being short. :)
We had the most fun on the water rides and fountain. Brin was able to go on Rattle Snake Rapids. She loved it. Bridgette and I played with the camera while we waited.

Here is the girls having fun. We did not get a bunch with the boys because the rides were going too fast.

Midway 8-1-08

This year the Barber Family get-a-way was planned by Shantelle. We went to the Homestead. Shan planned everything and got us a great place to stay. It was a 3 story Twin Home with 4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 2 familyrooms, a laundry room and a huge kitchen. I got the best room in the place. It had a King Size bed, the closet was big enought for my kids to stay in. The kids loved the pool. This is where we spent most our time.
